10 year anniversary

Wow! I woke up this morning and I was thinking about what I could share and I realized that it had been 10 years since Romantic Homes did the article on my first art studio in Laguna Beach. Although the magazine was an April issue it came out early March and caught me off gaurd. What a wonderful piece of exposure that was for me, and boy how it changed my life. This is the first yard long painting of roses I did and definitely the most published. Thankyou editors, Eileen and Rebecca,  for all your support back then. And a special thanks to all of you who have followed and supported my art and still do, I am forever grateful!

  2. I'm so glad you started a blog! I still have that magazine, it is one of my all time favorites. I love the pictures of your home. Please post photos of your new home and property sometime (here on your blog would be a great place!), no doubt they are beautiful. Best wishes on your blog, I'll do a post on you and introduce you to my friends too!

  3. Hello,
I have that same picture that you have shown on your post as shown in Romantic Homes 10 years ago. It is above the mirror in my bathroom and I look at it daily and smile because I love the soft, romantic roses. I will never redecorate because I can't stand to take it down. Love your work.

  5. So nice to meet you. Roses are timeless and your roses are timeless beauty. Your story reminds me of myself, though I did not push through my struggles in College to be the artist God created me to be, I changed my major to Nutrition instead. Now, I am in my 40's trying to figure out how to pursue my art again, after 20 yrs. of mothering and homeschooling my 4 children. So you are inspiring me! Funny too that you just moved to Fallbrook...my brother's children and ex-wife live there...she is now married to the artist Gamini Ratnivira. Fallbrook is beautiful and I can imagine your new home in the country is, but I can't imagine leaving a beach cottage(my dream home). Unless you kept the beach cottage as a vacation home. I live in N. Cali and will try to go see your art in Roseville. You are a beautiful person inside and out. Bless you<3 ox~ Fairmaiden of Sea Cottage

  6. I remember when I got this issue and was so enthralled with your beautiful roses...I remember begging my husband to take me to see you so that you could "teach" me how to paint... In what seems like days later...you had "blown up" everyone knew who you were and then....I was too embarrassed and shy to seek you out lol But I am sooo happy that your life has turned out as it has and that you share your beautiful creations with the world...just as it was meant to be...my stars now that I think about this... it seems like a lifetime ago, Your beautiful art still captives me...although I have yet to have one of my own....I would still love to learn to paint from you :) I love the name of your home, my neighbors named my 1916 house "Casa de las rosas" home of the roses...at least it was till the gophers did away with about 1/2 my rose bushes :) But it is a pleasure knowing you now have a blog to come and visit you at. Besos, Rose

  14. Hey Girl, not sure what happened to my comment I posted early this morning. Anyway, I mentioned you on my blog today and told everyone to stop by for a visit! I told them to sign up and "follow" you as well, so get that FOLLOWER part up or ask Rita to help you. I've already had customers come in and miss you. And every time I walk by your old space, I too miss you!
    Take care my friend, Sue

  15. Christie ~ Hi there! How wonderful that you are now going to be blogging! I'll now have a new sweet haven of loveliness to visit. I did sign up as a follower - hope you'll visit me and do the same.

How could it possibly be a decade since that fabulous magazine cover came out - I perused and scrutinized those pages many, many times - sheer beauty. And yet too, it is hard to remember a time when your rose paintings haven't be around. Lucky us...

  16. G'eve, Christy ~ I have been a 'fan' of yours since your first presentation in the RH. I get lost in your exquisite artwork ... it is like going to the land of roses on an exquisite dew kissed morn where the fragrance lingers touching my soul ... this is how your elegant creations touch me.

Welcome to bloggy world. We hear about you all the time from Tanza who drips of your art work everywhere in her home ... she teases us as she presents each new piece of your work. She is a wonderful friend ... we enjoyed her sharing her pictures of you & she together.

Thank you for sharing all you do ... you are very blessed.

    Have a beautiful eve.
