Today I am welcoming my first twelve students to my rose painting class. And this morning as I was looking through a book I have on french flower painters from the 1800's I stumbled across this quote by Redon. It's words have meant so much to me through the years " flowers should be forever fresh and soulful, born where the two rivers of image and memory meet. They are the very land of art, the good earth of reality harrowed and furrowed by the spirit." This is something I hope to pass along to each one who is on their journey to paint the rose. It's time for me to begin to get ready for our next Vintage Marketplace June 3rd & 4th. Not only is my yard exsploding with new flowers from all the rain we have had, but also my mind is full of new painting inspirations ready to come out. I will be dedicating the month of May to working on those ideas. XO Christie

I'm so loving the rustic farmstyle inspiration with a touch of romance, of coarse! This week I spent the last 2 days designing these labels to embellish the old jars I find. The jars make great vases for roses and containers for candles, I also put wire handles on them. I will be adding them to my table at my shows.XO Christie
