Although I love to paint in oil, and it's my favorite of all mediums, I don't seem to get as much time to compose as many as I would like with my busy schedule. Creating a painting to me is like writting a song or a poem, you start out with an inspiration but you never know exactly where it will take you before it's completed. and it usually takes on a life of its own. This year I have painted 7 new oil paintings, and this one is just in time to debut at our December Vintage Marketplace! XO Christie
composing the design...thinking out loud
the finished song...

Christie- How absolutely beautiful! I love it. You just put the beauty in beautiful with your paintings. We have a new "beauty" too. A BIG, bouncing grandbaby boy! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteoh so interesting. Now I have to ask, with the last two images above each other, is the first one the beginning of the painting, and then you add in the details and all the color and it turns into the finished result as shown in the last image? And I was also surprised that you did only 7 paintings. I was thinking you were doing lots more than that. I see all the things you are painting for your fairs and shows, so those aren't technically paintings then right? Your paintings are lovely and I hope I am not asking dumb questions!
ReplyDeleteOh Christie it's soooo beautiful! *sighs dreamily* Vanna
