Painting For "Glitterfest"

I'm packing up tomorrow for the Glitterfest show which is Saturday. I managed to squeeze in a few more painted things to add to my table. It's an intense busy one day show, filled with some of the best creative women in their respected  field. I'm so excited that my son Austin is coming along to help me this time, Then after it's over we are headed straight to my cousin Mark's evening wedding where it will be like a big family reunion!!! XO, Christie

My Obsession with French Floral Art

Although I have taken painting classes in college, I never really found a contemporary teacher that focused on painting flowers and roses with traditional principles and knowledge. So most of my rose painting path, I have been on a quest to find books filled with knowledge and images of those artists I admire most and can learn from. As most of you know I have an incredable love for French design and art history, I have gleaned so much from studying certain artists from French history and then applying what I've learned to my art today. I recently discovered a new book by Chantel Chirac, who gathered a collection of Aubusson cartoons from her native land of France and put them in a book for us to see and learn of the history, just fascinating! She is also opening a museum in her little village of Aubusson this coming summer. A visit to the museum is now a must for my bucket list! Fall Color Inspiration!

I have spent the last couple days working on this cabinet door for a friend, and as I photographed it to show her the progress, I realized how the colors she requested fit right into this wonderful season of FALL! After I send it back, she will then distress and antique it before it's finished, and ready to hang on her wall.
XO Christie    P.S. I've linked up over at maleviksrosentradgard to share my roses.
