My Christmas Cottage for the December show!

Here is what I've been working on for our upcoming “Holiday Rendezvous” Show, December 6th-8th in Rainbow CA. The inspiration for the facade of my booth comes from my love of Vintage glitter houses and Vintage pastel ornaments. I will add the glitter as I get closer to the show so my little Christmas cottage will glisten in the sun! XO Christie

Believe it or not it's time for me to start thinking of new designs to paint for the TVM Christmas show themed "Holiday Rendezvous". I love a French Victorian Christmas, so as I was looking back in my files for inspiration from designs I have done before, I thought you might enjoy seeing some of them again. XO,Christie

A Little Sneak Peek Behind the Scenes

As you know our September show themed "Farmgirl Fancies" is quickly approaching, so here is a little sneak peek of what's cooking behind the scenes at my house as I'm getting ready! After all is said and done my booth is turning out to be an inspiration from a farmgirls workday, representing chores like  laundry to cleaning, cooking and even some yardwork!  Come on out to see us if you can, It's a lot of fun! September 6th-8th 2013. XO Christie

Painting from Memory

Last Saturday while teaching a class, I picked up an old canvas that I had started a painting on but never finished, about 10 years ago. I decided to use it as a painting demo and paint on it from memory of an inspiration I once had from a design on an antique piece of French china. I played around with it in class then picked it up again yesterday and finished it. It was so nice to see it finally come to life! XO Christie

A Fun Weekend Visiting Some Local Shops!

I had a few friends spend some time with me this past weekend and we really enjoyed visiting some of the shops in my area. It started on Friday as we went out to Matilda's Mouse Barn sale where they were having a tribute to the Great Gatsby...

Then Saturday we had a lovely time visiting Main St. in Lake Elsinore where Mora's Antiques was having an Open House and Vintage Vendetta was having their Grand Opening, we also discovered another shop on the street called Urban d├ęcor. We had so much fun shopping and enjoying all the creativity!

Last but certainly not least we visited Vignettes in San Diego to see the store all dressed up for Summer!

Hope you enjoyed the shopping tour, XO Christie

Focusing on the Farm Girls!

Since our focus for the September show is "Farmgirl Fancies" I wanted to share from a vendor in our show "Sweet Magnolia's Farm" , they specialize in vintage "farmstyle" and are quite famous for it! Every show we are always excited to see what they bring and do with their booth. Here are a few photos of some of the amazing props and styling they have done to showcase their things!

Mixing up Romantic and Farmgirl

I'm putting on my "Farmgirl Fancies" thinking cap, since thats the theme of our September 6th, 7th & 8th show, so I have been working on my shop a bit to get in the groove! here are a few photos of my new bedding with ruffles and checks, some vintage accessories (hats and aprons) and I even put up some old porch posts and fancy corner brackets. I guess I'm kind of a mix of romantic style and a little fancy farmgirl.

More to come! XO, Christie

I'm starting to get my "mo-jo" back after our last show, now I'm getting ready for another rose painting class this coming Saturday ...but wanted to share another photo of some originals I painted on mirrors for the French Flea show. I'm really enjoying using the glossy glass paint, it seems like a mix of oil and acylic when using it, and its fun to experiment on different surfaces other than canvas. XO

this is somthing I made out of an old dresser drawer front and a victorian hook

I'm really starting to get excited, only 5 more days till our "French flea" show! I worked on this little dresser yesterday, not quite sure if its frenchy, maybe I should keep it for Fall when we have the "Farmgirl Fancies" show? No, I think I'm bringing it out this time...there is plenty of time to create for the Fall! XO Christie

Finding Inspiration in Vintage Pictures

As our next show approches I find myself wondering what will be my inspiration to design the entrance of my booth??? This time the theme is "French Flea" and as you probably know I love anything French! Over the past couple weeks I have had my antennas up pretty high to catch whatever little inspiration I could glean from my travels, meaning surfing the internet, usually pinterest and other sites related. I found a couple pictures that gave me some practical ideas to  get me started with the design process, interpreting it my own way, and of course that meant pink. This first one gave me the idea for the checked scalloped valence, the bike and the advertisement on the window...

This next picture I found inspiring was a vintage French painting, I was intriged by the details of the little flower shop especially the little basket of fleurs hanging from the iron scroll in the upper corner. I thought I can do that!

I had purchased an iron Paris sign while back, just because I liked it, and  now I can give it a purpose. I pulled out the vintage door from my garden and wrote my business advertisement on the window, I found an old bike with great baskets and painted it, and I made a new pink checked scalloped valence. I think its taking on a life of its own and I'm so excited for the progress! I have a few more things to do like fill the baskets on the bike with lavender and I think my front entrance to my booth will almost be done! XO Christie
Hoping to see you there!!!

Revised "Cherry Blossom Farm"

I did a little revision to my farmhouse painting...I was thinking it just wasn't quite finished, there was more story that needed to be told, my heart and mind was tugging on me to add a little clothesline gently blowing in the wind, so here is my completed little painting. It will be available  as a giclee canvas on my website next week www.christierepasy.com XO Christie
